Job Title: Field Service Technician

At Rise Broadband, we are seeking a highly skilled Field Service Technician to join our team. As a Field Service Technician, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality installation, repair, and maintenance services for our telecommunications products and services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform installations, disconnects, reconnects, add-ons, changes, and troubleshooting of telephone and high-speed Internet services at customer locations.
  • Conduct thorough assessments and diagnose technical issues related to internet, video, and telephone services.
  • Work both outside and inside customer premises, regularly climbing ladders and working on rooftops.
  • Drive company truck between office, home, warehouse, and work sites in a safe and courteous manner, following all laws and company policies.
  • Interact with customers in a professional and courteous manner, providing clear explanations of the features and functionality of installed products.
  • Complete basic performance testing and setup of installed services, including PC, Local Area Network, and Voice over Internet Protocol telephone equipment, ensuring optimal functionality and customer satisfaction.
  • Promote Rise Broadband services to customers, generating new accounts, service upgrades, and additional service offerings.
  • Adhere to company procedures, policies, and safety guidelines to ensure a safe and productive work environment.
  • Maintain accurate records of work orders, service updates, and customer interactions.
  • Work on regularly scheduled days as well as unscheduled days and/or beyond regular work hours due to customer or operational demands, as needed.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Valid state driver's license and acceptable driving record in accordance with the Company's Motor Vehicle Policy.
  • Excellent customer service, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Working knowledge of PC and MS Office products.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical information, such as repair manuals and parts books.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects, climb ladders, and work on rooftops as necessary.
  • Flexibility to work on scheduled and unscheduled days, including beyond regular work hours, to meet customer and operational demands.
  • Willingness to travel and provide service within the assigned geographic area.

Working Conditions:

  • Employee is constantly required to stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel objects, tools or controls and reach with hands and arms. Must be able to frequently climb ladders and towers and work in an elevated position (up to 500ft). On a constant basis, must safely lift, carry and maneuver heavy or awkward objects 100 pounds or more. Specific vision abilities required include close, distance, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Full spectrum color vision required.
  • Must be able to work safely in a field or office environment. Must be adept at working in adverse weather conditions.
