Business Development Representative

ArcBest is a leading integrated logistics company that leverages its technology and full suite of shipping and logistics solutions to meet its customers' supply chain needs.
The company's acquisition of MoLo Solutions, a fast-growing truckload brokerage, has expanded its capabilities and strengthened its relationships with carriers.
Job SummaryThe Business Development Representative - SMB will build a portfolio of small to medium-sized customers across North America, with opportunities to solicit any region and/or vertical in the continent.
This role is responsible for prospecting customers, actively selling ArcBest transportation services, and developing relationships with accounts.
Key Responsibilities- Research new leads using customer databases and customer relationship management software
- Prospect small to medium-sized customers through cold calling and email communication
- Uncover customer needs while positioning all ArcBest services, including truckload, less-than-truckload, and managed transportation
- Act as a consultant to customers to build and maintain customer relationships
- Maximize operational efficiencies for customer shipments using transportation management software
- Proactively identify issues and resolve problems to uphold ArcBest's commitment to service
- Collaborate cross-functionally with carrier sales, yield management, and modal operations departments
- Assist and oversee revenue collection process as needed
- Effectively support teammates' accounts when necessary
- Bachelor's Degree, preferred
- Previous customer sales, operations, or service experience, preferred
- Ability to multi-task with a high attention to detail
- Ability to negotiate and reach outcomes that gain the support and acceptance of all stakeholders
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and meet performance metrics
- Confident decision-making and problem-solving skills
- Entrepreneurial, sales-minded, and coachable individual with a strong work ethic
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize and maximize workload to meet deadlines
- Strong listening and communication skills, both written and verbal, with an ability to effectively connect and engage with customers
The Business Development Representative - SMB will be a member of the ArcBest Sales team at the MoLo Solutions headquarters in Chicago, with a team focused on growth, customer service, and an inclusive work culture.
Hours will be Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm, with irregular hours that may occur depending on workload.
