Early Childhood Education Center Director

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Early Childhood Education Center Director to lead our team at the Oakland Unified School District. The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall management and operation of the center, providing instructional leadership and maintaining accurate records and accounting procedures in accordance with district and state guidelines.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement a program designed to meet the educational, health, and developmental needs of children, in accordance with district policies, state guidelines, and federal regulations.
- Provide supervision in the development and maintenance of the learning environment conducive to the social, emotional, and cognitive development of young children.
- Provide leadership to the staff in assessing center, staff, and child needs for the purpose of determining program objectives and activities.
- Supervise and evaluate the performance of all assigned personnel at site in accordance with the district's adopted uniform guidelines for evaluation and assessment.
- Plan for the most effective use of curriculum materials, instructional supplies, equipment, building facilities, center grounds, and community resources.
- Determine eligibility, priority for enrollment, and fees; and maintain center waiting list in accordance with state guidelines, federal regulations, and district procedures.
- Maintain up-to-date records reflecting current status of each family served. Initiate appropriate action when parents are not in compliance with the state and federal regulations and district policies.
- Maintain center enrollment at capacity as identified by the department.
- Understand budget development and provide leadership focused on maintaining a balanced budget for the site.
- Work collaboratively with staff to develop professional learning communities (PLCs) that utilize best practices for student achievement.
- Implement well-designed professional development that focuses on student outcomes.
- Possession of California elementary teaching and administrative/Supervision credentials authorizing service in preschool through adult education.
- Twelve units in early childhood education or two years' experience in early childhood education or a childcare and development program.
- Master's degree in education or child development is desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with administrative superiors, colleagues, and subordinates.
