Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant I to join our team at SJS Foot and Ankle. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care, including vital signs, medical histories, and medication administration.
  • Assist with administrative tasks, such as scheduling appointments and processing medical records.
  • Conduct laboratory tests and procedures, including phlebotomy and EKGs.
  • Prepare patients for exams and procedures, including preparing exam rooms and equipment.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including medical histories and test results.

Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
  • 1 or more years of Medical Assistant experience may be considered in lieu of completion of program per department discretion.
  • Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) is required within 60 days of hire.
  • Medical Assistant Certification/Registration required or must be obtained within 60 days of start date from one of the following credentialing organizations:
    • Certified MA from American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
    • Registered MA from American Medical Technologists (AMT)
    • National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) from National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
    • Certified Clinical MA (CCMA) from National Healthcare Association (NHA)
    • Podiatric MA Certified (PMAC) from American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA)
    • Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) from International Joint Commission on Allied Personnel in Ophthalmology (IJCAHPO)
