We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead a variety of Platform product development initiatives for our next generation Semiconductor Testers.

In the Platform Engineering Group, we focus on developing state of the art industry leading Semiconductor Equipment.

This position will need to work with Systems Engineering, Marketing, and other Engineering groups to understand key requirements and use cases.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering and experience with design and development of complex systems.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and collaborating with development teams in key areas such as providing technical knowledge and guidance, communication clarity, trade-off analysis, project scheduling, and change management.
  • Producing concepts from high level requirements or problem statements from various functional groups, develop those concepts with various types of analyses, verify design through functional testing of prototypes, summarize results, and defend design in design reviews to peers and management.
  • Performing and explaining structural analysis to support design using a mixture of hand calculations and FEA.
  • Effectively collaborating with global supply base to arrive at economically viable solutions for high volume manufacturing.
  • Creating assembly and detailed part drawings using GD&T.
  • Developing industry leading Platform products based on sound engineering principles that support electronics packaging solutions for complex air and liquid cooled designs, consider design reliability in various thermal operating environments, consider end user constraints, cost, and time to market.

Long-term expectations for this position include contributing to initiatives throughout the company as a subject matter expert, routinely creating innovative ideas and generating presentations, mentoring Jr. Engineers and helping create a high performance engineering team.

Qualified individuals will have a BS in Mechanical Engineering and 5+ years of experience, solid experience with Solidworks, Solidworks PDM, Solidworks FEA, in-depth knowledge of GD&T standards and applied experience, effective written and verbal communication skills including presentations, a driven and autonomous personality, experience writing and communicating critical reports, Microsoft Office Suite, experience leading design reviews, internally and customer, complex problem solving/troubleshooting skills for both components and subsystems.
