Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Housekeeping and Maintenance Associate to join our team at Girl Scouts of Colorado. As an On-Call Housekeeping Staff Member, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of our camp facilities and equipment, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for all campers and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain the cleanliness and sanitation of all camp areas, including restrooms, showers, and kitchen facilities.
  • Responsible for completing daily cleanliness check logs and creating and following cleaning schedules for camp areas.
  • Clean and disinfect toilets, showers, bathroom countertops, and sinks, as well as fixtures, railings, door handles, tables, chairs, and program areas.
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen area and laundry facility.
  • Sort, wash, load, fold, and unload laundry, and help keep bathrooms stocked with necessary supplies.
  • Clean and wash windows, mirrors, and other glass surfaces, and help empty trash receptacles and dispose of waste.
  • Assist with the set up and cleanup of all dining hall procedures and help with the general upkeep of all camp areas.
  • Participate in rehearsals of emergency procedures, implement health risk procedures, and alert supervisors to potential exposure of a communicable disease.
  • Maintain, use, and store equipment and facilities properly, and report needed inventory or repairs.
  • Help with the continuous stocking of equipment and inventory, and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED (or working towards these) preferred.
  • Preferred experience in housekeeping or a related field.
  • Proficient understanding of sanitation and regulations for workplace safety.
  • Ability to remain discreet and respect the privacy of guests.
  • Ability to perform consistent work to the highest of standards.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to work quickly and efficiently, and work well as part of a team.
  • Must be able to work well under pressure and maintain personal cleanliness.
  • Must be 21 years of age for driving purposes, and hold a valid driver's license with 5 years of driving experience.
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check acceptable to GSCO standards.
  • Must be able to work non-traditional hours, including early mornings, evenings, and/or weekends.
Working Environment and Physical Activities

Camps are at altitudes of 8,000-9,500 feet. Prolonged periods of standing and walking, frequently pulling, pushing, and bending. Must be able to regularly lift 5-10 pounds, with the ability to lift up to 50 pounds as required. Manual dexterity required to handle necessary equipment. Ability to hear, listen, see, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, bend, smell, use hands and fingers to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, limb or balance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
