**Job Summary**

At Builders FirstSource, the Truss General Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing the daily operations of a manufacturing facility. This individual is responsible for driving business growth, ensuring operational efficiency, and maintaining a safe working environment.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Manage and coordinate daily location activities, resolving operational challenges and implementing effective solutions.
  • Oversee personnel management duties, including training, hiring, terminating, and conducting performance reviews.
  • Direct supervisors in their personnel management responsibilities.
  • Drive continuous improvements and efficiencies through Lean principles and practices.
  • Monitor inventory levels, ensuring sufficient quantities of materials are available.
  • Ensure quality control of all products manufactured in the production facility.
  • Serve as safety officer for the respective location, auditing work areas and attending monthly safety meetings.
  • Review production reports, department expenses, labor costs, and associate attendance reports.
  • Prepare and monitor budgets, reviewing variances with department supervisors.
  • Ensure compliance with Vehicle and Fleet DOT requirements.
  • Monitor shop efficiencies, including manpower requirements, overtime, and schedules.

**Requirements:**

  • Knowledge of the building industry and support operations.
  • Excellent oral communication skills and positive interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to motivate others and work with minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge of P&L statements.
  • 3-5 years of experience managing a truss plant.
  • Knowledge of truss design to assess and manage sales efforts and pricing.
