About the Job

We are seeking an experienced Employee Benefits Account Manager to join our team at Acentria Insurance in Apex, NC. As a key member of our benefits team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional service to our client base, ensuring their policy renewals, adding new policies, and maintaining business retention.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver exceptional customer service to assigned accounts, providing timely responses to inquiries, resolving issues, and making informed decisions regarding coverage modifications.
  • Partner with producers to develop new/renewal business strategies, coordinate roles, and obtain necessary information to add new policies that meet clients' needs.
  • Verify new and renewal policies for accuracy in rating, coverages, and other relevant information, ensuring timely delivery and mailing to clients.
  • Maintain strong positive client relationships through open communication, face-to-face meetings, and being the primary point of contact for assigned clients.
  • Interact effectively with colleagues and professionals, utilizing excellent communication skills, cooperating purposefully, and providing guidance as needed to achieve business goals.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends, new product information, legislation, coverages, and technology to provide expert guidance to clients.
  • Provide direction and guidance to account associates and less experienced account managers as needed.
  • Overtime work may be required to meet business demands.

Competencies & Qualifications:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Word and Excel, with ability to work with numbers and basic calculations.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work in a team environment, project a professional appearance, and manner.
  • Self-starter with flexibility to adapt to changing business needs.
  • High attention to detail and strong working knowledge of the insurance brokerage industry, including products, rating, underwriting, coverage, and industry operations.

Education & Experience:

  • Life & Health 2-15 License.
  • College degree preferred, high school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Up to 3+ years of account management experience, including group benefits experience.

Salary:

$65,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience.
