Job Summary

The Licensed Practical Nurse is a vital member of our healthcare team, providing direct nursing care to patients in various settings. This role requires a strong foundation in nursing theory and practices, with the ability to observe and evaluate patient conditions, instruct patients in routine medical care, and perform various nursing procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor patient conditions, checking vital signs, measuring food and liquid intake and output, and responding to patient requests for assistance.
  • Provide direct care to patients, including catheter and colostomy care, bowel program techniques, insulin injection, personal hygiene, and skin care.
  • Administer medications and treatments, document patient progress, and notify the next shift of daily events.
  • Assist doctors in clinics, gathering information on patient needs, informing doctors, and transcribing orders.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must be licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse by the Arkansas State Nursing Board and have a strong understanding of nursing theory and practices. You should be able to work rotating shifts, lift and position patients, and manage aggressive behavior.
