Job Title: Litigation Secretary

We are seeking a highly skilled and organized Litigation Secretary to join our team at James & Waddle PC. As a key member of our legal team, you will be responsible for providing administrative support to our attorneys and assisting with the coordination of all aspects of our litigation matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct investigations, legal research, and initial case assessments
  • Draft pleadings, motions, and file them with the court
  • Perform administrative duties, including calendar hearings and deadlines, organizing case files, and managing logistics
  • Maintain pleadings and discovery indexes
  • Organize exhibits, documents, evidence, briefs, and appendices
  • Aid attorneys with drafting and responding to interrogatories and other discovery requests
  • Gather relevant information from various sources
  • Liaise between trial teams and internal/external third parties

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of proven working experience as a litigation secretary
  • Applicable knowledge of motions, discovery, evidence, litigation documentation, court rules, and procedures
  • Highly organized with the ability to juggle multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong writing and communication skills, along with attention to detail
  • Extensive computer and database expertise
  • Paralegal Certificate (not required with relevant work experience)
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred (not required)
  • Ability to work overtime (if needed)
  • An understanding of and/or working knowledge of real estate transactions (consumer and commercial)
