Job Description and Duties

As subject-matter experts in payroll and benefits, our personnel specialists play a vital role in fostering belonging among team members during onboarding and getting them connected to our team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Apply and interpret bargaining unit contract language, laws, and rules from available reference manuals and other related revisions issued by the State Personnel Board, the California Department of Human Resources, State Controller's Office, California Public Employees' Retirement System, and the Department of Health Care Services.
  • Work independently, multi-task, and work with various cut off dates throughout the pay period to maintain an active roster of employees.
  • Develop and maintain good rapport, consistent and regular attendance, and the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing in dealing with internal and external customers and stakeholders.
Requirements:
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to interpret and apply complex laws and regulations.
