A. Marshall Hospitality is seeking an experienced Sous Chef to join our team at Deacon's New South in downtown Nashville, TN.

Job Summary

The Sous Chef will be responsible for overseeing all kitchen functions, including food purchasing, preparation, and maintenance of quality standards, sanitation, and cleanliness. This individual will also train employees in cooking methods, preparation, plate presentation, portion control, cost control, and sanitation and cleanliness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee all kitchen functions, including food purchasing, preparation, and maintenance of quality standards
  • Train employees in cooking methods, preparation, plate presentation, portion control, cost control, and sanitation and cleanliness
  • Ensure a clean and safe working environment
Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in varied kitchen positions, including food preparation, line cook, fry cook, and expediter
  • At least 1 year of experience as a Sous Chef or equivalent position
  • 21 years of age or older
  • Reliable transportation to and from work
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with managers, kitchen and dining room personnel, and guests
  • Self-discipline, initiative, and excellent communication and leadership skills

  • Semi-annual bonus opportunity based on a percentage of base salary (6% eligible for this position)

Estimated Salary:

$65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience
