Job Summary

The U.S. Marine Corps is seeking a highly skilled Recreation Specialist Supervisor to oversee the planning, management, and administration of a comprehensive year-round health and fitness program at a Marine Corps Installation.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in a related field and four years of experience in fitness or a health field with health education and prevention as a primary focus. A certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) is required.

The Recreation Specialist Supervisor will be responsible for planning, developing, organizing, managing, and supervising diverse and comprehensive health and physical fitness programs, including group exercise classes, self-directed fitness programs, incentive programs, special events, and instructional programs.

The successful candidate will have strong public speaking and professional writing skills, as well as competency in computer literacy and metrics reporting and/or program evaluation.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, manage, and administer a comprehensive year-round health and fitness program
  • Develop, organize, manage, and supervise diverse and comprehensive health and physical fitness programs
  • Coordinate the use of fitness facilities to accommodate the comprehensive Semper Fit Program
  • Conduct various levels of group exercise classes
  • Drive a government vehicle to travel to various sites on the installation

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Four years of experience in fitness or a health field with health education and prevention as a primary focus
  • Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS)
