Job Summary
Old World Industries LLC is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Development Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our sales department, you will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with our clients, identifying new business opportunities, and driving revenue growth.
About the Role
The primary duties of this position are to develop and execute a multi-channel sales strategy that positions Old World Industries LLC for growth. You will be responsible for capitalizing on existing business via customer engagement calls and other communication approaches, which are intended to increase profitable revenue. Additionally, you will create demand for products and services by underscoring the company's offerings with clients, utilizing market share, account data, analytics, trends, and competitive information to drive overall strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform complex sales transactions or processes by applying an advanced level of technical expertise and judgment to achieve desired work outcomes.
- Maintain effective relationships with a portfolio of clients, while maintaining a thorough knowledge of the client's products and technology, as well as industry trends.
- Control requests for pricing from customers and manufacturers' reps by utilizing competition information, market intelligence, and current price lists to recommend prices that will fit customers' requests and fall within profit objectives.
- Collaborate with other sales teams while providing overall customer satisfaction.
- Identify opportunities for incremental profit growth, present creative solutions to customers, and close business to achieve sales goals.
- Continuous personal development of the industry, company products, services, and processes.
- Gather information to recommend the approval or denial of deductions and allowances based on an investigation of information gathered from sales files and other relevant sources.
- Provide assistance to current and potential customers by maintaining an expert knowledge base of Old World Industries LLC's products and pricing structure.
- Compile, analyze, and recommend changes to projections from sales staff, manufacture representatives, and customers to prepare future production requirements.
- Identify and capitalize on opportunities to improve the profitability of the entire customer relationship.
- Intimately understand customers' environments and strategic priorities to build value propositions that drive growth.
- Responsible for ensuring that all commitments, either verbal or written, are documented in the customer's sales file.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you must have:
- Bachelor's degree in Business/Marketing (related field) required or equivalent experience, including account management.
- 5+ years' sales experience in a fast-paced environment preferred.
- Proven track record of sales prospecting.
- Building and nurturing internal and external relationships.
- Must be independent, detail-oriented, highly organized, computer literate, possess the ability to multi-task, and create clarity in a complex environment.
- Must work at a fast pace with a high level of accuracy while managing competing priorities under moving deadlines.
- Ability to become proficient in new technologies to efficiently manage business processes.
- Successful relationship-building skills.
- Excellent sales, project management, analytical, written, oral, communication, and presentation skills.
- Self-starter, possess high energy, solid presentation, creative, and analytical skills.
- Experience negotiating successful resolutions to complex challenges.
- Knowledge of SAP preferred.
- Knowledge of Tableau Reporting Software preferred.
- Requires ability to travel in the region for business calls and industry conferences.
- Requires a valid driver's license.
Salary Information
The estimated salary for this role is $120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on experience.
