Medical Care Coordinator

About the Role: We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team as a Medical Care Coordinator. In this critical role, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and coordinating with physicians and staff to ensure seamless delivery of services.
Job Description:
The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years of experience in medical/surgical nursing and/or area of specialty. You will be required to possess knowledge of examination diagnostic and treatment room procedures, medications, and their effects on patients. Strong assessment and assistance techniques, administration of treatments and medications, problem-solving skills, and effective communication are essential for success in this position.
Responsibilities:
- Provide general nursing care to patients, administering prescribed medications and treatments according to established standards.
- Maintain exam rooms, ensuring necessary supplies and materials are available, and preparing equipment for physician use.
- Record and report patient conditions, reactions to drugs and treatments, and educational needs to physicians.
- Dispense medication as directed, educate patients and families about diagnostic procedures, medications, nutrition, and health maintenance.
- Triaging patients appropriately, responding to/referring treatment-related phone calls, and maintaining patient confidentiality.
Requirements: A valid RN registration in the State of Massachusetts is preferred. CPR certification is also required. The ideal candidate should possess excellent communication skills, work effectively in a team environment, and maintain a safe work environment.
Working Conditions: This role may expose employees to various patient conditions, including infectious diseases, blood and bodily fluids, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medicinal preparations, and other clinic environments. Employees must be able to handle and lift patients, perform manual dexterity tasks, and respond to stressful situations.
Educational Requirements: A graduate of an accredited school of Nursing is required.
