Industrial Steam Engineer at McLean Hospital

As an Industrial Steam Engineer at McLean Hospital, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our boiler plant.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring and participating in boiler plant operations
  • Safely monitoring, maintaining, and adjusting Powerhouse equipment and related systems
  • Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Monitoring equipment at specified intervals and recording data in operation logs; opening and closing valves; starting, stopping, and/or adjusting equipment in response to changing weather conditions or energy requirements

You will also be responsible for:

  • Equipment Maintenance: safely performing preventative and corrective maintenance to limit equipment failure and reduce equipment downtime
  • Water Management: record metrics and inspect deionizing tank and pumps; monitor and log MWRA water treatment tanks
  • Promoting and supporting a safe working environment: all work is to be performed in a safe manner using proper safety practices

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A valid MA 3rd Class Engineer license
  • A valid MA Wastewater Operator license, minimum Industrial Operator Grade 2
  • 3-5 years of trade experience in a boiler or steam power plant as a steam engineer, fireman, control room operator, or auxiliary operator

We offer a competitive salary of $70,000 - $90,000 per year, depending on experience.
