Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse III to join our team at Alameda County. This is an exciting opportunity for a nurse with strong leadership skills and experience in public health.

About the Position

The Registered Nurse III will act as a lead nurse, assisting in providing direction, consultation, coordination, and review of the work of professional nursing and para-professional staff on an assigned team. This role requires precepting nursing students, planning, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating the delivery of nursing care services to individuals and communities.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a lead nurse, assisting in providing direction, consultation, coordination, and review of the work of professional nursing and para-professional staff on an assigned team.
  • Precept nursing students.
  • Plan, implement, monitor, and evaluate the delivery of nursing care services to individuals and communities.
  • Assist in the management of a program/project.
  • Perform related duties as required.

Requirements

  • A minimum of two years of full-time, recent experience within the last 5 years as a Registered Nurse II in the Alameda County classified service or three years of full-time, recent nursing experience within the past 5 years at a level of or higher than the Alameda County class of Registered Nurse II in a clinical and/or public health setting.
  • Possession of a current and valid California Public Health Nursing (PHN) certificate issued by the California Board of Registered Nursing.
  • A valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of California.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing or a related field.
  • Mastery of the theories, principles, procedures, techniques, standards, and practices of nursing and public health nursing.
  • Knowledge of current trends in public health and public nursing.
  • Experience working in a multidisciplinary team environment.
