Mortgage Lending Professional

The Senior Mortgage Advisor will originate first mortgage loans, foster relationships with real estate professionals and community partners, and serve the financial needs of our customers.

• Travel to solicit loan business through referral partners and community activities.
• Meet with customers and prospective clients at various locations.
• Process loan applications, obtain necessary documentation, and inform clients of underwriting guidelines and government regulations.
• Screen loan requests, propose options, and communicate approvals or denials.
• Distribute market data, rate information, and promote bank programs.
• Maintain relationships with local builders, real estate agents, and customers.

• Five+ years of mortgage lending experience in a financial institution or loan office setting.
• Bachelor's Degree in Business or Finance, or three years equivalent work experience.
• Above-average knowledge of banking practices, policies, regulations, and laws related to mortgage lending.
• Solid working knowledge of bank compliance requirements and Fair Lending laws.
• Strong computer literacy, data entry skills, and proficiency in spreadsheet software.
• Initiative, thoroughness, accuracy, and organizational skills are essential.
• High level of confidentiality required.
• Solid oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects.

• Customarily and regularly engaged away from the bank to obtain sales.
• Frequent use of computer screens, reading reports, and completing documents.
• Concentration is required under distracting work conditions.
• Lifting and moving loan files up to 15 lbs.
• Some travel for meetings, trainings, and real estate visits.
