Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Energetics Manufacturing Engineering Manager to join our team at our Elkton, Maryland location. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring operational efficiency and effectiveness for a broad and diverse team of manufacturing, tooling and test engineers and technical writers.

The Energetics Manufacturing Manager position will involve leading and overseeing multiple teams responsible for tool design, process design and documentation, test design and execution, as well as lean manufacturing improvements. The chosen candidate must have demonstrated ability in working with cross-organizational teams and customers, setting clear goals and priorities, and successfully communicating them to key staff.

The ideal candidate will have leadership qualities with a proven track record of building high-performance teams, employee development, engagement, inclusion, and retention. Experience in working with aerospace specifications and requirements is essential, along with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interface with an organization at all levels.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Management of Tool Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Test Engineering, Lean/Industrial Engineering, and Publications/Documentation Departments.
  • Ensuring engineering support for efficient and effective manufacturing execution.
  • Establishing, tracking, and executing overhead budgets and staffing plans.
  • Leading, developing, and implementing system, manufacturing, and cross-functional improvement projects.
  • SUPPORTING SITE QUALITY AND MISSION ASSURANCE OBJECTIVES.
  • Ensuring team executes projects and tasks to meet needs of internal and external customers.
  • Serving as a positive change agent and creating a compelling work environment for employee engagement and career development.
  • Providing formal feedback and development opportunities to employees, mentoring employees to a successful career path.
  • Supporting and leading direct reports in our safety and process improvement culture.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering and 8 years of experience or a Master of Engineering degree with 6 years of experience.
  • Five or more years in leadership and 8 years related experience in manufacturing operations, engineering, and/or program management.
  • Leadership qualities desired with demonstrated success in allocating time and resources, ongoing and immediate feedback, open sharing of information and knowledge, encouraging suggestions and ideas from team members, and experience in working with aerospace specifications and requirements.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to interface with an organization at all levels.
  • Ability to convey clear and concise direction and expectations.
  • MUST BE A US CITIZEN AND ABLE TO OBTAIN A DoD SECRET CLEARANCE.
