Job Overview

Fannie Mae, a leading provider of mortgage financing solutions, is seeking an experienced Senior Multifamily Credit Risk Audit Lead to join our team.

About the Role

We are looking for a highly skilled professional with expertise in credit risk management, commercial real estate, and fraud risk to lead our internal audit teams in ensuring the integrity of our financial systems and processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead complex audits and reviews across Fannie Mae's Multifamily division, applying technical knowledge and expertise to identify risks and areas for improvement.
  • Provide day-to-day project leadership, ensuring projects are completed on-time, within scope, and budget, while monitoring team progress and providing technical guidance and coaching to other auditors.
  • Collaborate with modeling and technology audit partners to define project scope and develop integrated testing strategies.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage data analytics and emerging technologies to increase efficiency and effectiveness in audits through data-driven insights and full population testing.
  • Conduct first-level review of work and documentation, leveraging guidance from Audit Management as needed, and review and finalize staff work papers and deliverables with Audit Management.
  • Inspire and motivate team members to achieve results, leading meetings with internal and external stakeholders to effectively communicate audit issues, results, and project status.
Requirements
  • 4+ years of experience in risk, audit, or control roles, with a focus on credit risk management, commercial real estate, and fraud risk.
  • CPA, CISA, or CIA certification required.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
