We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Director Physician to join our team at YesCare Health, a pioneer in correctional healthcare. As a leader in our organization, you will be responsible for providing overall supervision of clinical services, ensuring the delivery of high-quality medical care to patients. Your expertise and leadership skills will play a vital role in shaping the future of our healthcare services.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the Chairman of the Medical Audit Committee, driving quality improvement initiatives and ensuring compliance with national standards.
  • Collaborate with medical providers in the community to resolve issues and improve service delivery.
  • Supervise clinical services provided by professional and paraprofessional staff, promoting a culture of excellence and patient-centered care.
  • Ensure on-call services are available and respond appropriately in urgent or emergency situations.
  • Develop and implement clinical protocols, policies, and procedures, including annual reviews and approvals.
  • Provide direction and assistance to the quality improvement program, focusing on patient complaints, infection control, peer review, and chart audits.
  • Manage referrals to outside healthcare facilities, ensuring appropriateness, quality, and continuity of care.
  • Serve as a professional resource and leader for all staff physicians and clinical staff, promoting a culture of teamwork and collaboration.
  • Assist in screening, interviewing, evaluating credentials, and hiring of healthcare providers.
  • Participate in in-service training classes, representing the healthcare program in discussions with local civic groups or visiting officials.
  • Document all encounters in patient records, ensuring timeliness, legibility, and signatures.
  • Provide emergency treatment on-site and respond appropriately in urgent or emergency situations.
  • Develop a plan for transition of care, ensuring that clinicians monitor patient needs and provide recommended care when patients return from external facilities.

Requirements

  • Board certification in primary care specialty (Family Practice, Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Public Health, or Occupational Medicine) with administrative experience in corrections and/or managed healthcare delivery.
  • Fully licensed to practice medicine in the state of employment.
  • Current DEA registration and compliance with state regulations.
  • Critical thinking, organizational, decisive judgment, communication, good customer service skills, and ability to handle multiple tasks in a stressful environment.
  • Subject to initial and ongoing security clearance requirements.
  • A background check, security clearance, and drug screening are required for this role.
