The Reliability Test Engineer, under limited supervision, is responsible for executing reliability tests including electrical and mechanical test setup.

Reliability tests include electrical, mechanical, and environmental testing of current designs, new product designs, and ongoing reliability tests. Conducts continuous improvement activities to improve and maintain testing activities in the lab.

Involved with problem identification, containment activities, action plan development, and execution. Ensure that the test requirements for product testing and processes are defined and met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Setup test equipment and products in proper sequence per testing procedures
  • Electrical wiring and mechanical fixture setup
  • Perform tests on prototypes, existing, and competitor products for stated criteria involving mechanical, electrical, environmental, and electromechanical functions through ISO 17025 and Laboratory Scope of Operations
  • Use various mechanical, electrical, and electronic measurement devices
  • Accurately interpret and document scientific notation, temperature, pressure, and other measurements
  • Document lab procedures
  • Assists in the assembly and fabrication of test equipment and prototype products per blueprint specifications
  • Use and enforce 6S methodology, calibration monitoring, and enforce/execute lab calibration policy
  • Support manufacturing through troubleshooting activities; Maintain test-related documentation in, and support administration of, database environment
  • Prepare formal and informal test reports

Requirements:

  • Associates Degree
  • 10 Years of relevant work experience

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls.

The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion, the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend, or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to pounds.

Specific conditions of this job are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision, and ability to adjust focus.

Occasional travel.
