Job Description:

A challenging role awaits an exceptional Human Resources Specialist at the Air Force Personnel Center. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing classification services and position management advisory support to various organizations within the Air Force.

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled professional with expertise in Federal HR classification techniques, analytical methods, and communication skills. Your primary objective will be to serve as a Classification Specialist (GS-07) in a developmental capacity, performing assignments designed to further develop applicable analytical and evaluative skills and techniques.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Provide classification services for positions in installation-level organizations
  • Offer position management advisory services to assigned organizations
  • Participate in special initiatives, studies, and projects related to classification and position management
  • Prepare written correspondence and other documentation
Requirements and Qualifications:

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions, 0201 Series.

Specialized Experience:

Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-05, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience include applying principles and practices of classification, interpreting and applying position classification standards, and determining classification of positions.

Education:

Successful completion of 1 full year of graduate-level education in a field demonstrating knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary for the position is also acceptable.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):
  • Knowledge of basic Federal HR classification techniques
  • Ability to communicate factual and procedural information clearly, orally and in writing
  • Ability to gather and analyze facts, and draw conclusions from information
  • Ability to identify instances of poor position management
  • Ability to consult effectively with co-workers and specialists in other offices
Estimated Salary Range:

The estimated annual salary range for this position is $60,000 - $90,000, depending on qualifications and experience.
