Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Operations Leader - Merchandise to join our team in this key role. As a leader in our pet care center operations, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective merchandising and inventory management operations of the store. This includes receiving, pricing, stocking, and maintaining the backroom according to Petco operational standards.

Responsibilities
  • Business Acumen: Utilize business analysis skills to measure, analyze, and diagnose business trends, and implement business improvement plans effectively.
  • Inventory Management: Support the implementation and execution of Inventory Management, including training and coaching partners on Shrink, Cycle Counts, Receiving, and RTV/Recall.
  • Merchandising Management: Support the implementation and execution of Merchandising Management, including Brand Standards, Pricing, Planogram Accuracy, Door to Floor, and Ad Set through training and coaching partners.
  • Guest Experience: Process register transactions that create a great experience for each guest and be proficient in our selling model to support guest interactions as needed.
  • Omni Channel: Implement and execute Omni Channel initiatives, including BOPUS, Ship-from-store, Curbside, Endless Aisle, and overall Guest Experience through training and coaching partners.
  • Animal Welfare: Ensure the health, proper handling, and welfare of all animals according to policies and procedures.
  • Safety and Maintenance: Adhere to and promote established safety procedures and maintain a clean, safe, and healthy environment for store partners, guests, and animals.
  • Backroom Organization: Ensure the backroom and equipment are organized and maintained according to Operating Standards of Excellence.
Requirements
  • A high school diploma or its equivalent required; some college-level business/management courses preferred.
  • 1 or more years of management experience or the equivalent required, with 2 or more years preferred.
  • Must be licensed to operate a motor vehicle.
  • Proficiency in communication skills, organizational skills, and computer skills required to include: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other applications as needed.
