Job Overview

KA Recruiting Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Medical Technologist II to join our team in Pennsylvania.

About the Role

As a Medical Technologist II, you will perform various technical and general duties at an advanced skill level. You will function independently with minimal supervision and be responsible for overseeing the work of other personnel by training, allocating, and monitoring work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and/or specialized testing and procedures with supervision as appropriate.
  • Perform quality control and instrument check procedures and maintain related records.
  • Oversee the work of other personnel by training, allocating, and monitoring work.
  • Participate in research activities and investigate new products, equipment, techniques, methodologies, and introduce, demonstrate, effect, and recommend as is appropriate.
  • Inoculate, cultivate, classify, and identify microorganisms found in bodily fluids, exudates, skin scrapings, autopsy, and surgical specimens to provide data on cause, treatment, and prevention of infectious diseases.
  • May group or type blood of donors and recipients and determine compatibility of donor blood products with intended recipients.
  • May perform chemical and/or immunological tests to identify and/or quantitate substances found in blood and other body fluids.
  • Count, describe morphology of, and perform specialized studies on blood and other body fluid cells and perform coagulation testing.
  • Consult with medical staff and other healthcare providers on matters relating to laboratory services.
  • Train other employees in day-to-day procedures.
  • Participate in department-specific and/or system-wide projects of varying scope and duration.
  • Assist in implementing policies and procedures for department operation.
  • Enter or retrieve data from established computer files.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Prior lab experience (2-3 years required) and knowledge.
  • ASCP certification.
  • A BS degree.

Compensation

The estimated salary for this position is $80,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience.
