Post-Operative Care Nurse

Job Summary
The Registered Nurse - Post Op provides high-quality patient care and education based on individualized needs and treatment plans.
This role involves managing nursing care through the use of the nursing process and primary nursing principles, in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
The Post-Operative Care Nurse performs technical skills and assists surgeons, anesthesia personnel, and other professionals in the facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Assesses and diagnoses patient and family needs to provide quality care.
- Develops and communicates a realistic problem list (plan of care) for each patient, in collaboration with the patient/family/significant other.
- Utilizes post-surgical care knowledge to prepare the patient for the next level of care.
- Maintains up-to-date and accurate documentation of nursing care provided.
- Maintains supplies/inventory for the department.
Requirements
- Associates Degree in Nursing or Technical Diploma/Certificate in Nursing.
- Minimum 2 years of acute care experience or 1-3 years of critical care experience.
- BLS for Healthcare Providers (BLS) American Heart Association.
- National Institutes Of Health Stroke Scale (NIH) within 90 days.
