Salary and Benefits

The base pay scale for this position is $31.24 - $32.18 per hour. This position will be eligible for additional benefits consistent with the role.

About the Role

This Per Diem Weekend Patient Care Assistant Program is designed for BSN students to gain hands-on experience in a clinical setting while working alongside experienced staff nurses.

Responsibilities
  1. Maintain a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic environment for patients and families in accordance with hospital standards.
  2. Taking patient vital signs, including blood pressure, heart rate, respiratory rate, temperature, and oxygen saturation.
  3. Encourage patients to perform exercises and guide patient activities as advised.
  4. Support patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs).
  5. Maintain a clean and comfortable environment for each patient.
  6. Record intake and output.
  7. Escort discharged patients out of the hospital as directed by the Registered Nurse (RN).
  8. Communicate written and verbal information appropriately and timely.
  9. Respond to patient requests and/or call lights.
Requirements
  • A High School diploma or equivalent is required. Current enrollment in an accredited BSN program is mandatory.
  • Must have at least two acute care clinical rotations completed by program start date.
  • Be able to commit to a minimum of 3 weekend shifts a month throughout the year.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including days, evenings, and overnights.
