Job Summary:

The Senior Custodian position at the University of California, Irvine is responsible for performing skilled and semi-skilled cleaning, housekeeping, and general maintenance duties in acute and non-acute in-patient, out-patient, and non-patient areas. This role requires exercising care and caution in the use of supplies and equipment while performing custodial tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform resilient tile and carpet care maintenance tasks, including stripping, waxing, and carpet extraction/shampooing.
  • Perform various related housekeeping duties as assigned.
  • Exercise care and caution in the use of supplies and equipment.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working in a service industry position.
  • Previous experience interacting with internal and external customers.
  • Ability to read, write, and follow oral and written instructions in English.
  • Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated custodial experience working in a healthcare environment.
