Job Summary: The Cardiac Diagnostic Specialist performs advanced cardiac ultrasound services and procedures for adult patients, including transthoracic, transesophageal, and stress echocardiograms. This role requires preparing equipment, prepping patients, explaining procedures, reviewing images, and reporting findings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performs basic to advanced cardiac ultrasound procedures utilizing various equipment and techniques
  • Identifies and defines cardiac abnormalities, extending the scope of the examination as necessary
  • Correlates invasive and non-invasive cardiac diagnostic test results with cardiac anatomy and function
  • Assists physicians in procedure rooms and operating rooms by performing echocardiograph studies
  • Prepares patients for procedures, obtaining clinical history, and adjusting imaging techniques
  • Records statistics and performs daily maintenance of the Echocardiography Lab and its equipment
  • Acts as a resource to staff, physicians, and students regarding equipment, techniques, and studies

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field
  • Registration as a Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) or Reg Diag Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire
  • Less than 1 year of experience in cardiac sonography

Compensation: The estimated annual salary for this position is $60,000 - $80,000, depending on experience and qualifications. Our competitive benefits package includes health and welfare benefits, 401(k) savings plan, tuition reimbursement, and PTO accrual beginning Day 1.
