Nursing Leadership Opportunity at Nashville General Hospital

Nashville General Hospital is seeking an experienced Lead RN/LPN to join our team in a full-time day shift position. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, clinical expertise, and the ability to work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team.
Job SummaryThis role requires a blend of leadership and hands-on clinical skills, with the ability to step into staffing roles as needed. As a Lead Nurse, you will assist the Clinic Manager in overseeing day-to-day clinical operations, ensuring efficient workflow and high-quality patient care.
You will also provide guidance, mentorship, and support to clinical staff, including RNs and LPNs. Additionally, you will coordinate staff schedules, assignments, and time-off requests to ensure adequate coverage. This position works Monday-Friday from 8:00am-4:30pm.
Responsibilities- Assist the Clinic Manager in overseeing day-to-day clinical operations, ensuring efficient workflow and high-quality patient care.
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to clinical staff, including RNs and LPNs.
- Coordinate staff schedules, assignments, and time-off requests to ensure adequate coverage.
- Lead team huddles and meetings, promoting communication and collaboration among the care team.
- Perform clinical tasks as needed, including patient assessments, medication administration, wound care, and other nursing procedures.
- Engage patients and their families in care planning and decision-making, promoting self-management and shared decision-making.
- Assist with administrative tasks, such as maintaining patient records, managing inventory, and ordering supplies.
- Monitor clinical performance metrics and assist in implementing improvement initiatives.
To be considered for this opportunity, you must have:
- A Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license with an active and unrestricted certification.
- A minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in a primary care or specialty clinic, with at least 1 year in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Familiarity with Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) and Patient Centered Specialty Practice (PCSP) concepts and their implementation.
- BLS Certification required at the time of hire.
