Zoo Cashier

Job Summary:

The Cashier is a part-time position responsible for operating a cash register, accepting payment, and serving concession items to guests at the Tampa Zoo. This role requires excellent attendance, strong communication skills, and the ability to maintain a clean and organized workspace.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct cash register sales by entering orders and completing transactions.
• Maintain stock and supply levels, and communicate low stock items to the Concessions Stand Manager.
• Listen and respond to customer requests or concerns.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including disposal of garbage and cleaning dishes.
• Serve beverages to guests, including alcoholic beverages responsibly, and verify minimum age requirements.
• Maintain sanitation, health, and safety standards in work areas.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be 18 or over.
• Three or more months of experience in the food service industry preferred.
• Previous cash handling experience preferred.
• Ability to learn to handle cash and operate a cash register and corresponding system.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a friendly, positive attitude with co-workers, managers, volunteers, and guests.
