Adjunct Instructor for Digital Storytelling

Job DescriptionAt SUNY Ulster, we are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Adjunct Instructor to teach our Digital Storytelling course. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in digital media and a passion for teaching and mentoring students. The instructor will be responsible for teaching the course in person on the Stone Ridge campus and will be expected to provide engaging and interactive lessons that promote student learning and success. The instructor will also be responsible for evaluating student progress and providing feedback. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of storytelling techniques, proficiency in multimedia tools, and hands-on experience with camera operations. They will also have excellent communication and organizational skills and be able to work effectively in a collaborative environment. The instructor will be responsible for creating a course outline, providing instruction, lectures, and assignments, and evaluating student progress. They will also be responsible for maintaining accurate records of student attendance and grades. The instructor will be expected to comply with all institutional and departmental policies and procedures. The successful candidate will have a strong interest in teaching and mentoring students and will be able to convey complex information in a clear and concise manner. They will also have a strong commitment to diversity and inclusion and will be able to work effectively with students from diverse backgrounds. The instructor will be responsible for teaching the course in a variety of formats, including classroom, online, and hybrid. They will also have excellent technical skills and be able to troubleshoot technical issues related to camera equipment and software. The instructor will be responsible for maintaining and managing equipment inventory and ensuring that all gear is in working order. The successful candidate will have a strong creative vision and be able to translate ideas into engaging digital content for the classroom. They will also have exceptional attention to detail and be able to produce high-quality digital content. The instructor will be responsible for teaching the course in a way that is engaging and interactive and that promotes student learning and success. The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to community college goals and objectives and will be able to work effectively in a multicultural environment. They will also have a strong understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, gender, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
