About the Position

This role is responsible for providing comprehensive support to individuals who lack opportunity and aspire to pursue a career in the healthcare industry. The successful candidate will work closely with prospective and new Dwyer Scholars to identify barriers to success and develop strategies to overcome them.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop a thorough understanding of Dwyer Workforce Development's mission, vision, and philosophy.
  • Engage with prospective Dwyer Scholar applicants to determine program eligibility and collect required documentation.
  • Work with Dwyer Scholars to identify and address barriers to success, using self-sufficiency development tools and resource solutions.
  • Manage program supportive services for and with Scholars during pre-training and training programs.
  • Provide ongoing support and wraparound services to Scholars through regular contact and communication.
  • Document program service encounters, program activities, and interventions in the database management system.
  • Deliver pertinent program information to Dwyer Scholars during training programs.
  • Maintain current and confidential record keeping systems, including updating contact notes and tracking Scholar progress.
  • Support recruitment activities, job fairs, and community events as needed.
  • Maintain client confidentiality and adhere to the Data Privacy Act.
  • Demonstrate teamwork by cooperating with and assisting co-workers as needed.
  • Attend required meetings, training, seminars, and conferences to enhance expertise and professionalism.
Requirements
  • Knowledge of local community resources and social services.
  • Demonstrate cultural competency and ability to work with diverse groups.
  • Possess strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as leadership and motivational skills.
  • Be highly organized and able to work independently.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent and 2 or more years' experience working with human service agencies/programs. BA or BS degree in social work/human service degree or related field encouraged.
  • Working knowledge of modern office communication systems and ability to operate various office equipment.
