Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Patient Services Representative to join our team at Baystate Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient-centered care and administrative support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage Patient Experience: Greet patients warmly, verify demographics, and confirm appointments to ensure a smooth and efficient experience.
  • Insurance Verification: Verify patient insurance coverage, request proof of insurance, and assist with billing and financial counseling.
  • Payments and Collections: Process co-payments, manage cash drawers, and reconcile collections and billing information.
  • Communication and Customer Service: Develop strong relationships with patients, providers, and staff, and provide excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment.
  • Check-out and Scheduling: Review patient information, schedule follow-up appointments, and provide referrals as needed.
  • Mail Processing and Faxes: Sort and distribute incoming mail and faxes, and prepare documents for scanning.
  • Documentation and Scheduling: Prepare and scan documents, and work with physicians and practice managers to schedule appointments.
  • Leadership and Interpreter Services: Provide interpreter services as needed, and make recommendations for improving quality, efficiency, and patient experience.
Requirements
  • Education: GED or HiSET required.
