Job Summary:

The Communications Technician I will be responsible for installing and maintaining telecommunications systems, including structured cabling, network infrastructure, and low-voltage devices. This role requires a strong understanding of technical concepts and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Install and terminate low-voltage devices, including patch panels, routers, and switches.
Route and install cable through modular furniture and wall boxes.
Perform pre-termination procedures, including organizing, forming, and dressing cables.
Suspend and support cable correctly using cable trays, J-hooks, and D-rings.
Build and install closets, including mounting backboards, cross-connects, and racks.
Install grounding for racks, equipment, and cable as required.
Perform fire-stopping procedures on fire walls and install sleeves and cable through sleeves and core penetration.

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent required.
0-2 years of experience in telecommunications or a related field preferred.
Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
Basic construction industry knowledge preferred.
Ability to meet Company minimum driving standards preferred.

Work Environment:

The Communications Technician I will work in an outdoor or indoor construction work environment, with the ability to work at heights, off of a ladder, and in confined spaces. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, positive in approach, professional, and able to promote the Company culture and mission to all employees, vendors, clients, and business partners.
