Key Responsibilities:

Possess knowledge of medical terminology, office procedures, and insurance requirements.
Organize and maintain patient medical records and equipment, ensuring accuracy and legibility in documentation.
Conduct pre-visit planning, reviewing patient charts, test results, and correspondence to anticipate necessary services and provider protocols.
Prepare patients for examination and treatment, escorting them to the exam room, interviewing, recording medical history, and taking vital signs.
Provide timely communication with patients, making inquiries, executing follow-up tasks, and integrating information into care plans.
Assist with scheduling tests and treatment, pre-certifying patients for hospital care and/or procedures, and processing referrals to other providers.
Assist providers and nurses with medical and office procedures, including blood draws, EKGs, minor procedures, and rooming patients within scope of practice.

Requirements:

High School Diploma or equivalency.
National Medical Assistant Certification (CMA, CCMA, RMA) or Graduate of a Medical Assistant Training Program.
Proficient in obtaining manual vital signs and using an electronic health record system.
Commitment to confidentiality and respect, with ability to obtain and record patient data, including prior health history, family history, allergies, current medications, current complaints, and health screening questionnaires.
Knowledge of basic anatomy and medical terminology, with experience assisting physicians, nurses, or other healthcare providers in performing clinical tasks and procedures.
Ability to provide patients with information related to their health and wellness.

Work Environment:

Light work, standing, walking, sitting, bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching. Some lifting required. Category I - Duties performed routinely require exposure to blood, body fluid, and tissue.
