About the Role
">The successful candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering, with experience in project management, leadership, and communication. You will be responsible for managing multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion, and meeting budget targets.
Key Responsibilities
">- Manage multiple projects from conception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and budget adherence;
- Lead cross-functional teams, providing guidance and support to ensure successful project outcomes;
- Develop and implement project plans, including resource allocation, timelines, and budgets;
- Collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams to understand project requirements and objectives;
- Prepare and review engineering plans, drawings, and specifications;
- Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation throughout the project lifecycle;
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and advancements in engineering techniques and technologies;
- Conduct site visits and assessments to gather necessary information and ensure project compliance with local regulations and standards.
Requirements
">- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field;
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is required;
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in site civil engineering, project management, and leadership;
- Strong proficiency in using Civil 3D AutoCAD software;
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively convey complex engineering concepts to diverse audiences;
- Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities, with a demonstrated track record of managing multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines;
- Familiarity with local regulations, permitting processes, and design standards in Maryland and Washington, D.C.

Performance Expectations
">- Submit for approval and deliver timely annual Employee Performance Appraisals for assigned staff;
- Train adequate backup personnel to support your role in your absence;
- Comply with all KCI policies and procedures;
- Ensure projects fulfill ISO compliance requirements;
- Manage work routine of all assigned staff and assign job activities as required;
- Achieve or exceed budgeted individual utilization target (75%-80% typical);
- Attend bi-weekly (or more frequently as necessary) meetings with project team on all projects/tasks;
- Chart and provide task performance results;
- Complete all tasks on time and within budget while fully meeting the scope;
- Consult and coordinate with other practices and sub-consultants as required;
- Operate within specified (corporate or project) budget parameters;
- Prepare interpractice agreements and/or outside requests as required;
- Provide technical project and staff oversight;
- Serve as task manager on select projects;
- Compare field data to base plan;
- Conduct site visits and gather data, including measurements, sketches, notes, and photographs as needed;
- Prepare design calculations, drawings, specifications, and cost estimates for review and approval;
- Prepare preliminary concept designs and submit for approval;
- Read and interpret technical documents needed for performance of job;
- Review and approve shop drawings;
- Complete Annual Individual Training Program.
Salary Range
">$120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
