Job Summary

Monument Health is seeking a dedicated and skilled Telehealth Nursing Specialist to join our team. As an Ambulatory Telephone Triage Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care through telephonic nursing assessment, prioritization, and subsequent care disposition recommendations.

About the Role

In this position, you will work under the supervision of the Nurse Manager to utilize decision support tools, clinical judgment, and available evidence to expedite a nursing diagnosis and disposition in a complete and organized manner. You will also collaborate with patients, family members, caregivers, and other health professionals to conduct nursing practice.

Responsibilities
  • Recognize signs and symptoms of an emergency and provide appropriate support to patients and families, focusing on patient safety and quality.
  • Utilize the nursing process when interacting with patients during telehealth encounters.
  • Employ decision support tools, critical thinking, and synthesis of objective and subjective data to prioritize and identify the best course of action for each patient encounter.
  • Communicate effectively using various formats, tools, and technologies to build professional relationships and deliver care across the continuum.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • A completion of a nursing education program approved by a board of nursing.
  • A Registered Nurse (RN) certification from the South Dakota Board of Nursing.
  • Sedentary work abilities, including exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
