Pet Trainer Job Description

As a Pet Trainer at PetSmart, you will play a vital role in teaching pet parents how to care for their pets. You will lead engaging classes for all stages of a pet's life, from puppy training to advanced behavior modification.

About the Role:

As a Pet Trainer, you will participate in our Pet Training Instructor Accreditation Program to learn proven techniques developed by leading dog trainers. Upon completion, you will emerge as a trusted Accredited Dog Trainer specializing in dog behavior and learning theory.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach classes to a variety of dog breeds, sizes, and ages
  • Lead each class with an emphasis on the safety and comfort of pets and pet parents
  • Show patience to pet parents when training their excited puppies
  • Guide pets through our Pet Therapy Training Program
  • Build strong bonds with pets and pet parents
