The Toolmaker role at Employment Spark is an exciting opportunity for experienced professionals to take on challenging projects in advanced manufacturing.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Toolmaker with expertise in manual machining, blueprint reading, and CNC operations. The successful candidate will work closely with our Engineering Department to design and develop tools, fixtures, and prototypes using complex machine tools and precision measuring instruments.

Responsibilities
  • Plan and execute machining operations, determining the most efficient sequence of tasks and calculating shrinkage and expansion allowances.
  • Perform setup, programming, and operation of EDM equipment and various CNC machine tools, ensuring high-quality results and close tolerances.
  • Troubleshoot tool-related issues, make recommendations for modifications, and improve existing processes.
  • Collaborate with production employees and engineers to refine tooling and prototype designs.
  • Develop engineering models from sketches, instructions, and piece part drawings, incorporating design modifications as needed.
Requirements
  • 4+ years of manual machining experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience with manual milling, including facing, boring, drilling, and tapping
  • Expertise with manual lathes, including turning, boring, and single-point threading
  • Familiarity with measurement tools such as caliper, micrometer, height gage, and optical comparator
  • Strong knowledge of blueprint reading, basic trigonometry, and math skills
