Job Title: Operations Equipment Technician
About the Job:
As an Operations Equipment Technician with Sysco, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our delivery equipment. Your primary responsibility will be to check and maintain the oil, fluids, tire pressure, and fuel levels of all equipment daily.
Responsibilities:
- Fuel every piece of delivery equipment daily to ensure they are in optimal condition for operations.
- Conduct regular checks on all fluid levels of power equipment to prevent any issues that may affect their performance.
- Assist the fleet shop team as needed, providing support to ensure timely completion of tasks.
- Collaborate with both the fleet shop and night warehouse management teams to prepare equipment for use, ensuring it meets the required standards.
- Aid the Wash Bay Associate as needed, contributing to maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
- Keep the parking lot free of debris and ensure it remains safe and accessible for employees and visitors.
- Support the night truck spotters in organizing the truck yard, optimizing space and efficiency.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent education and experience combination.
Requirements:
- 1-3 months of related experience and/or training, with a strong focus on learning and growth.
Professional Skills:
- The ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- The capacity to write simple correspondence and effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
- Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- The ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- The capacity to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- The ability to learn to drive and back-up tractor-trailers and straight trucks.
Physical Demands:
- Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear.
- Frequently required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Occasionally required to sit.
- The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Estimated Salary Range:$45,000-$65,000 per annum (dependent on qualifications and location)
