Key Responsibilities

The Human Resources Manager is a critical role that oversees the day-to-day operations and compliance function of the Human Resources department. Reporting to the Managing Director of Human Resources, the successful candidate will perform a variety of operational and analytical activities in support of HR service delivery and department goals. This includes ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations relevant to Human Resources, leading and supporting HR team projects, managing the human resources generalist, and providing high-quality customer service to internal and external customers by delivering timely and professional support and results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage HR Compliance: Develop and implement HR policies and procedures, ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, and provide guidance to managers and staff on policy interpretation and compliance.
  • Manage HR Operations: Oversee the day-to-day work of the HR Generalist, provide supervision, training, and development, and ensure the effective execution of HR operational processes and procedures.
  • Provide HR Service and Support: Provide routine support to staff with questions about HR services and tools, lead large-scale HR projects, and assist the MDHR with sensitive employee relations matters as needed.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have at least 5 years of related Human Resources experience, including at least 1 year at a management level and 2 years with a compliance emphasis. A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Management & Leadership, Business Administration, or a related field is also required. Additionally, you will need to demonstrate proficiency with web-based software tools, such as Google Workspace and HRIS products, and a deep belief in our mission to provide individualized instruction that truly works.
