Patient Care Therapist

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our team at Driscoll Children's Health System. As a key member of our multidisciplinary healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing top-notch patient care services, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of communication and swallowing disorders in pediatric patients.
About the Role:- Job Summary: Provide Speech Language Pathology services to patients of the Driscoll Children's Health System, assisting with coordination of specific departmental activities and/or services.
- Main Responsibilities:
- Maintain confidentiality at all times and adhere to hospital policies and procedures.
- Demonstrate business practices and personal actions that are ethical and adhere to corporate compliance and integrity guidelines.
- Evaluate patient needs by selecting, administering, and interpreting appropriate evaluation tools.
- Educate patient and family members regarding evaluation findings and recommendations/plan of care.
- Develop goals that are functional, developmentally appropriate, time-sensitive, and measurable.
- Comply with clinical documentation requirements and develop, instruct, and verify understanding of home programs as needed.
- Participate in patient care-related team meetings, departmental meetings, process improvement initiatives, and communicate effectively with referring physicians.
- Manage billable productivity levels, generate suggestions for improving work processes, and provide on-call/patient-care coverage when required.
- Deliver in-services within the department, hospital, professional, and lay communities, demonstrating evidence-based practice and computer/software application proficiency.
- Adhere to infection control responsibilities and assume care coordinator roles as needed.
- Occasionally drive for Driscoll Children's Hospital business or participate in community visits for patient benefit.
- Education: Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders, OR Doctoral degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders.
- Certifications/Licenses: Current Texas Licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist or current Texas licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist Intern, Current Certificate of Clinical Competence or Clinical Fellow Status with the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, and Current BLS certification.
We offer a competitive salary range of $85,000 - $110,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Additionally, our benefits package includes health insurance, retirement savings plan, paid time off, and opportunities for professional growth and development.
