The Merchandise Manager is responsible for overseeing all merchandising operations within assigned departments in the store. Key responsibilities include department layouts, signing standards, product features, raceway and promo aisle setup, markdowns, freight flow to the sales floor, loss prevention and shrink control, and maintenance/detail recovery of assigned departments. The Merchandise Manager also acts as the Manager on Duty, overseeing the store in the absence of the Store Manager and Co-Manager. Additional duties may include HR functions, such as hiring, staffing, and paperwork. The Merchandise Manager is accountable for improving store volume, profits, shrink, employee retention/turnover, and store merchandising/presentation standards by meeting and exceeding established budgets and company guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Department layouts and signing standards
  • Product features and raceway setup
  • Markdowns and freight flow
  • Loss prevention and shrink control
  • Maintenance/detail recovery
  • HR functions, including hiring and staffing

Requirements:

  • Ability to work at different locations in and around the city
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. and occasionally up to 70 lbs.
