Compensation PackageWe offer a competitive salary ranging from $45,000 to $60,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
Job DescriptionPatient Greeting and Registration
- Greet patients and guests in a courteous manner via telephone or in-person.
- Initiate scheduling an appointment or complete the check-in process/admission for patients.
- Obtain and verify accurate identification and demographic data for the patient's permanent medical record, ensuring accurate reimbursement while maintaining confidentiality.
Insurance Verification and Collections
- Verify insurance coverage through electronic verification, phone calls, or web applications.
- Collect co-pays, deductibles, and self-pay portions due from patients.
Cash Handling and Administrative Tasks
- Balance cash drawers daily and prepare deposit slips.
- Adhere to closing procedures at the end of each shift.
Interpersonal Skills and Conflict Resolution
- Demonstrate respect and cooperation in all staff relationships.
- Resolve inter-personal conflicts in a professional and efficient manner.
Compliance and Regulatory Requirements
- Remain knowledgeable about current federal, state, and local laws, accreditation standards, and regulatory agency requirements.
- Ensure compliance with these regulations in the assigned area of responsibility.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree preferred.
- At least one year of related hospital, clinic, medical office, business services/revenue cycle, front-line registration, financial counseling, banking, hotel retail, and/or customer service experience.
- Certifications in Healthcare Access Manager (CHAM), Certification in Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA), or other medical specialty-based certifications are desired but not necessary.
We seek an individual who possesses excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and can effectively present information clearly and professionally.
You must be proficient with Windows-style applications, various software packages specific to your role, and keyboard skills.
Strong interpersonal skills, clerical skills, and technical knowledge of healthcare insurance benefits are essential.
You will work collaboratively with other departments, exercise sound judgment in handling difficult situations, and demonstrate good organizational, time management, and conflict resolution skills.
