Job Overview

Valor Healthcare, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Mental Health Professional - Clinical Lead to join our team at one of our locations in the United States.

The estimated annual salary for this position is $120,000 - $180,000, depending on experience and qualifications.

About the Role

We are looking for a qualified Psychiatrist to lead our mental health team and provide exceptional care to our patients. As a Clinical Lead, you will be responsible for supervising Mental Health Nurse Practitioners, Psychologists, and social workers, as well as developing program content and leading activities to enhance social development.

You will work collaboratively with the core PACT Team (Primary Care Provider, RN, and Medical Assistant) and expanded PACT Team to develop patient care plans. Your expertise will be essential in assessing social and emotional capabilities, ordering diagnostic tests, and interpreting results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Patient Assessment: Conduct thorough interviews to assess patients' social and emotional capabilities, examining them for symptoms of organic, congenital, or acquired disorders.
  • Diagnostic Testing: Order and perform diagnostic tests, interpret results, and provide follow-up care.
  • Treatment Planning: Develop and implement patient management plans, assisting in the provision of continuity of care through the Primary Care Management Module.
  • Counseling and Education: Counsel patients on prescription medications, educate them on treatment plans, and provide individual, group, and family counseling or therapy.
  • Case Management: Help members develop attitudes and social skills for improved family relations and community responsibility.
  • Documentation: Input all patients' information into VISTA/CPRS and complete clinical reminders.
  • Collaboration: Assist in co-managed care collaboration with non-VA providers and facilities, functioning as a case manager as needed.
  • Patient Education: Provide patient and family health education, focusing on self-management, prevention, wellness, and healthy lifestyle choices.
  • Confidentiality: Maintain confidentiality of veterans' data and information.
  • Compliance: Comply with all VA and company training requirements, as well as those of the Office of Inspector General (OIG), Joint Commission (JC), Environment of Care (EOC), and lab compliance.

Requirements

  • Education: Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathic Medicine degree from an accredited institution.
  • Certification: Board certified in Psychiatry and current, unrestricted DEA registration.
  • Experience: Minimum 1-3 years' clinical medical practice with adult patients, depending on individual VA contract requirements.
  • Skills: Strong computer skills, including EMR experience, and proficiency in written and spoken English.
  • Personal Qualities: Energetic and optimistic demeanor, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
