Job Summary

Leidos is seeking a highly skilled Distribution Engineer to join our Power Delivery Services Team. As a valued team member, you will have the opportunity to work on exciting projects, develop your skills, and contribute to the success of our clients.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electric utility design engineering, with experience in developing design packages for electrical overhead and underground distribution systems. You will be responsible for reviewing work provided by clients, assessing requirements, and performing engineering calculations such as structural analysis, guying calculations, and voltage drop calculations.

In addition to your technical skills, you will also have excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders. Key Responsibilities
  • Develop design packages for electrical overhead and underground distribution systems
  • Review work provided by clients and assess requirements
  • Perform engineering calculations such as structural analysis, guying calculations, and voltage drop calculations
  • Provide engineering support during construction, including post-construction reviews
  • Conduct root cause analysis of outages and mitigation using engineering principles and design
Requirements
  • 2+ years of relevant work experience in electric utility design engineering
  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline from an accredited institution
  • Experience with utility reliability projects and the NESC
  • Ability to demonstrate proficiency with design tools such as Pole Foreman, O-Calc, and Spida-Calc
  • Valid U.S. driver's license
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous QAQC experience
  • Experience providing estimated costs and development of a BOM
  • Experience with the Work Management System CREWS
  • 1 year or more of Relevant management or leadership experience
