Inventory Management Specialist for Evidence Tracking

About the Role:
The Inventory Management Specialist for Evidence Tracking is a crucial position at Vets Hired, where you will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of evidence and forensic materials entering our facility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive and inventory casework and related materials, ensuring accurate documentation and chain-of-custody.
- Create laboratory worksheets from templates as necessary and maintain master and unit chain-of-custody records.
- Enter data into our tracking software systems, accurately recording receipt, processing, and return of evidence and forensic materials.
- Prepare boxes and documentation for processing by specific units and ensure timely return to contributors.
- Perform general shipping/receiving duties, including loading/unloading boxes of evidence and forensic materials.
- Maintain detailed records of received, in-process, and returned evidence and forensic materials, ensuring seamless tracking and flow.
- Prioritize job responsibilities in a fast-paced environment, providing excellent customer service while maintaining attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in science disciplines or criminal justice.
- At least one year of experience in evidence inventory, control, and management.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Coursework in forensics and familiarity with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
- Ability to prioritize tasks, work effectively in a team, and adapt to changing priorities in a dynamic environment.
Estimated Salary: $55,000 - $65,000 per annum, depending on location and qualifications.
