Job Summary: We are seeking a dynamic and innovative physician to lead the Section of Clinical Genetics at the Children's Hospital of Richmond (CHoR) at Virginia Commonwealth University. As Section Chief of Pediatric Clinical Genetics, you will be responsible for providing clinical supervision and education to residents, medical students, and genetic counseling graduate students. Responsibilities:


  • Teaching: Contribute to the clinical supervision and education of residents, medical students, and genetic counseling graduate students.
  • Research: Engage in scholarship through presentations at national meetings, contributions to peer-reviewed scientific literature, and participation in professional organizations.
  • Service: Participate in regional, national, and international conferences with clinical colleagues and contribute to departmental, institutional, and national committees.
  • Clinical: Provide active participation as a clinician in various clinics and settings, including telemedicine, and share call and consultative responsibilities with other Clinical Genetics physicians.
  • Administrative: Responsible for section growth and development, strategic planning, expansion, quality improvement, and fostering relationships within the Department and VCU Health and genetics community.


Requirements:


  • Demonstrated clinical and teaching experience.
  • MD, MD/PhD, or equivalent degree with Certification by the American Board of Medical Genetics and Genomics (ABMGG) in Clinical Genetics and Genomics.
  • Qualified for full, unrestricted medical licensure in Virginia.
  • Previous leadership experience or a minimum of 8 years of experience providing patient care.
  • Commitment to fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment.
