We are seeking a highly skilled Histology Technician to join our team in the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology at the University of Washington.
Key Responsibilities- Perform histotechnology procedures such as processing, embedding, cutting, mounting, and staining of tissue specimens for evaluation and diagnosis by Pathologists.
- Cut and embed various types of biopsy and surgical tissues.
- Perform simple immunohistochemistry procedures.
- Prepare laboratory solutions as needed in procedures.
- Assist in Fine Needle Aspiration collection.
- Use, care and maintain histology instruments.
- Adhere to quality control and quality assurance requirements and perform low to medium complexity research projects.
